17th century
I have decided that I really like the 17th century works that we are discussing. They have switched from being difficult to understand as in the Renaissance to being literary pieces with meaning and depth involved. I love how the poems use different levels of perception and meaning to display a higher level of thinking where there is a literal meaning and also a metaphorical meaning that is sometimes more important then the actual meaning. The literature also demonstrates a huge part of what is going on in history at this time with the conflict between the catholics and puritans. My favorite thing that we have learned so far has been about Carpe Diem because it is a huge inspiration to go out and live your life and make a difference in the world. Well I have said my piece for now...
