rape of lock
I didn't really understand this story it was very confusing, but i guess it was about hair and how a guy wanted to cut off some of this girls hair. Well when i read it i didn't get any of that out of it. I think that the rhyming through confused me. This story was confusing and i don't understand the meaning behind it.

I am in the same place as you the whole story just seemed like a loose affiliation of words.
ReplyDeletei agree too. but once we went over it in class it really made more sense to me. how the satire was used, and really had a good meaning underneath all of the confusion you had to get past. :)
ReplyDeleteThe fact that they used a lock of hair was odd I thought. In society today, hair doesn't mean much. Look at the basketball team. They didn't care whether it was cut off or not they just did it because everyone else did. Back then I think some things were of more value. I'm not saying that a lock of hair was valuable back then, but it shows how we don't value much anymore. Also, in the end, the girl wanted her hair back, but she ended up losing it into the sky as a comet. We tend to fight over dumb things that shouldn't matter.
