Monster?
Not really.
Other than appearance,
He is very human-like.
Misunderstood.

I think that the word misunderstood is a very good word to describe the monster because everyone takes one look at him and thinks ugly. When in reality, he is much more deep than what meets the eye. Its ironic that the blind man accepts him (De Lancey), and the man with vision shuns him (Felix).
I agree.. makes me think of the phrase frequently used in our society "don't judge a book by it's cover".
ReplyDeleteI agree with you and Abby...it also reminds me of "Beauty is only skin deep." The ugliness could be hiding a fantastic personality and the prettiness could be covering up something wicked, like that queen in Snow White! Haha
ReplyDeleteAnd like the movie that I still need to see.... BEASTLY! :D
ReplyDeleteThis makes me almost uneasy with our society. Its weird to think about how dependent we are on looks... And how "image" gets us far in life.
