The Darkling Thrush
This poem was confusing but then after we talked about it in class it makes more sense. Its about the author who is all alone and sad but he finds hope in a bird and through the bird he finds hope. I like this poem.
The idea of song or singing seems to be a quite common symbol of hope. Hardy uses it well to show how the little bird singing in the dark is strong enough to lift his spirits.
