Dr. Seuss freewrite
The ironic thing about this book is that it is for children. The fact it is for children also makes it satire because war is made out to be almost play-like, immature, and childish. The language is very jubenile, but the overall theme is very dark. The two sides are going to war for nothing really and it is somewhat ridiculous. Both sides believe that they are right and we only hear the story through one of the sides. This is very similar to today because many times we make decisions or judgements before we hear both sides of the story. The end is mysterious and I believe either both sides either died or they came to an agreement and there was peace because either way, they were both going to lose because one side would come up with technology that was advanced and find that the other side had also.

Yeah this story really surprised me I mean with all the threats and then at the end with the threat of destroying each others people. This story was very juvenal. Lots of darkness inside the light words. Doctor Seuss has a way of having a deeper meaning in his words.
ReplyDeletei know thats so weird how its actually ment for children but of course all that satire is going to go right over the kid's head , i wonder if any of the parents reading this realized similarites to what was going on in to world...
