Wasting Away Again In Studyville
As I was going through all the poems to study I was having a difficult time connecting them to the Victorian period. I read the intro of history first and the main points I grabbed were peace, prosperity, reform, conflicting ideas, and realism. None of the poems address these subjects very well! Take The Darking Thrush for example. What the heck is Hardy hoping will emerge in the good time of the Victorian age?!? Tomorrow's essay may be a little bit of a stretch for me.
