the second coming
William Gate's "second coming" is about how society goes through a cycle. Society will eventually fall and the anarchy will corrupt it, but eventually a re-birth will happen and society will thrive again. It is like a falcon lost, circling the sky searching for his falconer.
Second Coming
The Second Coming was just like a circle. Yeats wants Jesus to come back that way he can start a new beginning of a civilization. This is like the book of Revelations, before the Lord comes back the world goes into utter chaos. The wicked rejoice and have fun while the end is coming and the righteous will wait. The beast of the sphinx is also bought into the poem. This kind of reminds me of Moses and the slaves being lead out of Egypt and going to find the promise land. In the end the descendents of those people end of to have the Christ be part of them. That's how I view it.
