the blog is all messed up...just sayin...it makes me sign in a bunch and wont let me comment annnd yeah so idk?
but anyways, ready to do this critical essay stuff..should be a blast!!! i'm really hoping i can find some critical essays though because so far my luck hasn't been the most amazing but...we'll see!
it's going to be a verrrryyyy long night /:

??????

I can only find critical essays on novels by Virginia Woolf? I'm getting really frusterated and I don't know what to do..

Help!

I do not know what we are suppose to be doing any more. I thought we were simply criticizing but after I read the example I got really confused. I don't know what to write. Please help me.

:/

My dogs stink like they have odor problems, bad odor problems. They got into the trash and therefore keep farting and its horribly sucky. Not enjoyable and annoying and ohh yeah nasty!

-Headphones-Knuckles Cracked-Caffeine---Lets DO THIS!

I'm ready. Dreading doing this for a while, but I think I finally have my work station set up to how I want it. I just looked up some criticisms for Kubla Khan and the first couple came up as 82, 64, and 39 pages. I think this might be a long night!

Is there a set number of pages that this has to be, or is it more of the 'however many pages that it takes' type of thing?

Stupid Question

Ok so when do you used the word entitled and when do you use just titled like

  1. The book was titled ...

  2. The book was entitled...

It is confusing me and its also distracting me in the back of my mind!

exam

i thought stariha sent us the exam? why dont i have it?!

People dont Know ..... ANYTHING

  • "To be sure, there exists little shortage of critical material on "Not Waving But Drowning," nor is there any lack of possible interpretations various readers have attempted to unlock its mysteries."
Ha tell that to my hours upon hours of research! This is a quote from my critical analysis paper! I can sure tell they don't know much!

:P :) :D B ) ( <- sunglasses)

The religious side of Middle Earth
J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit may seem a secular piece from the mystical wizards to the mighty dragons, but it is actually deeply rooted in Catholicism, as was Tolkien himself. David mills says in his critical essay titled One Truth, Many Tales, that “He did see his Lord of the Rings as a ‘fundamentally religious and Catholic work’, he even expressed some frustration that readers did not see this”. The absence of a supreme being or deity ruling over middle earth automatically makes this novel seem a secular piece, which David mills also addresses, saying “God is not mentioned at all in the book. All that the characters and the readers know is that some power, unnamed and unknown, is guiding the events”.
Tolkien grew up with his mother Mabel, who was later accepted into the catholic church, as was her two sons, John and Hilary, and they all became devout Catholics. Tolkien’s own website, the Tolkien society, says about his religion: “In 1900, together with her sister May, she was received into the Roman Catholic Church. From then on, both Ronald and Hilary were brought up in the faith of Pio Nono, and remained devout Catholics throughout their lives.”
The closest thing to a deity in The hobbit, is the ring of power itself, evident by its power to control minds, such as Gollum’s: “It wont see us, my precious? No. It won’t see us, and its nasty little sword will be useless, yes quite.” Although Gollum’s mind is easily susceptible to corruption, in later books, such as The two towers, and the return of the king, Frodo also becomes a slave to the ring, to a point where he refuses to destroy it. Tolkien may have had intentions of representing sin with the one ring, to show how sin destroys lives, and controls intentions.

essay

so for our essay, do we have to do it from a certain point of view? like marxist, femenist, etc. or can we kinda just do whatever with it?

No Grub for Me

Well yes so to all those responsible athletes at the banquet cudos to you and if there's cake sneak me some please!! :) much appreciated! But yes this is the starting point of my essay lets see how long this is gonna take ......

I sat down to write part 3 and I ended up editing and fixing part 1... and I still have to edit and fix part 2! sooo I'm going to have to limit myself to not even looking at part 2 tonight otherwise I know part 3 will never get done.. ugh.
