modern period poems

i really feel in this era they discuss the topic of death a lot more than any other era has before and they get into so much detail and are really complex about it. this, however, as we know is because of the world war that was going on at this time and the thought of death that was preceeding onto the people and the way it affective many families and the thought of death arose because of this.. :/ aww. it really depresses me because poems by t.s. eliot seemed so deep and like he had a lot of pesimissic thoughts and they were really valid and so true and they got you thinking about the thought of your life and being your own idependent individual! and then the poems by that one guy that died because of alcoholism really showed the tragedy that he went through and all the problems he had as well because of the thought of war and his father being part of it:/

the modern era test

i hope that this unit test will be easy and that everyone will do good on it, because it will be like one of the last grades. besides the final exaaam! lol. which i'm hoping everyone will do good on as well. as long as we can review and such! :)

do not go gentle into that good night

I found it a little bit weird how the writer was trying to convince his father to be angry as he layed there dying. I mean, I understand how he was in the war and he faced many hard times, but he made it through and lived to tell his story, that is not something he should get angry about. Yeah he was forced to serve, but he could have been worse off. I think people need to embrace life rather than be critical as to the events that took place as a person is dying. Death should come peacefully.

brit lit

i am sad that this class is going to be over. ): the 2nd tri was much easier for me and i feel like i have learned sooooo much more in this class then i would have ever done if i had taken english 11. i liked how the 2nd tri we had a very small class because then it is easier to get closer and share each other's opinions.

the poem was very interesting because most of the individuals want to die peacfully not with anger. Why would someone wish rage upon there father. what was the point of saying that to your father, it seems like a mean thing to say.
and the question of what you would say to your own parents really makes me think. I honestly have no clue of what i would say to my parents on there death bed. The whole thought is kinda scary because you think of your parents dieing.
