"If you're a bird, then I'm a bird"

There are a lot of references to birds in books and movies. Perfect example: The Notebook with the lake scene when they pretend to birds. Then, in Wuthering Heights Healthcliff is compared to a cuckoo (which Freddy is the bird that lays eggs in other birds nests AND is also the bird that I couldn't remember in the Ornithology science olympiad test) and Hareton is compared to a hedge sparrow. Also, in Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte there is a TON of bird references. My favorite quote from that book is "I am no bird and no net ensnares me, I am a free human being with an independent will." I guess birds are just the perfect example of freedom and yet confinement with cages and snares.

  5. How can you hate birds? I suppose I would have to be a bird of prey--the red tail hawk maybe. Just kidding, I don't like meat that much. I think I would be a loon or some other water bird.
