poor justine..
Justine got the short end of the stick for sure. She was, like we talked about in class, a victim of Victor's ignorance. It was obvious that Victor knew the severity of his mistake, he was just choosing to keep it to himself and not trying to make amends. A quote on the bottom of page 65 illustrates this pretty well, it says, "every one else believes in her guilt, and that made me wretched, for I knew that it was impossible: and to see every one else predujiced in so deadly a manner rendered me hopeless and despairing." In class we talked about how Victor is in actuality a good person, but for some reason, I feel like I need to disagree. I feel like he is extremely selfish and almost heartless. How could he stand by, and allow an innocent human being be accused and punished for a crime that was caused by him.. ?

Hey that's kind of the opposite of that clip we saw in Coach Z's class from the movie Les Miserables. That guy can't sit there and watch the prisoners falsely accuse a man of being him.
