The romantic era has influenced modern day society because we have higher "idealistic" expectations for things like life, love, money, and that we should always be happy. People dream about having it all and being super rich and perfect family, romance, and kids, when in reality, none of that ever really comes true. Everyone has hardships in there life that we must overcome, its not all fantasy. we also have unrealistic expectations that you must fufill or your not beautiful like having a perfect body, personaity, and all together flawless which has lead to anoriexia and many other psychological issues that people have formed because of their lack of "perfection" which is unrealistic.
Nice reflection Cara... it really does seem like there must be a healthy balance between romanticism and reality in order to have a healthy self-image and grasp of purpose and worth in life!
