The lady in the looking glass
This story to me is about the fact of how money is not everything. In the story she has lots of possesions and money but no actual friends. It shows that money can not buy happiness, because she had many things but without it she is a loser with no friends. The concept of the looking glass is a little confusing to me, why was it needed for us to be able to view of her life? It was also a little creeperish because it felt like we were spying on the women.
Shooting an elephant
Shooting the elephant was an interesting story showing the british control in india. But in a sense the indians had control of there land because they strongly outnumbered the british. just like in the story when the man goes to kill the elephant he is followed by many people. And in a way he is controlled by them. Also when he sends for the gun he seals the fate that he is going to kill the elephant. It shows how the pressure from the people force him to kill it.
