Luck
As being the only one that said that luck is money i think you all are wrong. Luck is money if you arent lucky you could mis the bus and be late for work one day and that could lead to you losing you job and unlimited potential earnings. or when picking your lucky numbers in the lottery without them you have no chance at winning potential millions. Luck is not just money but is very important for anyone to be succesfull.
The hollow man
If one was to just read the hollow man they would have no idea what it is about. To understand the hollow man it takes alot of thought and knowledge to know that eliot is talking about death the entire time. But it is really interesting how eliot talks of death and the metaphors he uses for death. Like what grace said about having the knowledge to the author would have helped us know more on the reasoning eliot had for writting the story and more to the meaning but i don't know that.
The Hollow Men
So The Hollow Men was really interesting to me. There were so many different ideas but they all had the same meaning to them. Death was the main focus and it was kind of scary. Eliot had a hard life and it really shows in his writings. Eliot is a mastermind in order to have all of those allusions in just the Hollow Men alone. The Lords prayer, Juileus Ceasar and many more. Its kind of cool how he can do that and how it all makes sense.

Shooting an elephant?
This story really gave a good perspective of George Orwell's political views and also the destructive acts of imperialism. It gives a first person view of the effects Britain had on India and most likely the other colonies they set up in. The people were dirt poor but not helped in a single way by the seemingly almighty British. In the event that an elephant was rampaging in the village however, the British seem to somewhat save the day. George wrote about his experience with this elephant, and his conflict between hating the British but being a citizen.
When the elephant came into town he listened to the stories but almost disregarded them because of the ill natured people not making sense of anything. Then he came upon a dead man killed by the elephant in which he decided to take charge and stop it. When he sent for his gun all the people followed him and then he felt pressured to shoot it. At first he just observed but when he looked upon the crowd of people watching him, he knew that he then needed to shoot it. It was interesting how he described that the white men in India had to set an example and not look scared or unsure of anything. The killing of the elephant was gruesomely described because he wasn't quite sure where to shoot the elephant. It died a slow horrible death which painted more of a picture of the struggle he went through in India. Orwell described British Imperialism and the effects of it very well in his story and also reflected upon the politics and destruction that comes with it.

araby
Araby was about a boy who was obsessed with his friends older sister and so when she asked him if he was going to the araby market he said yes to try to impress her and she told him to get something for her and so he made a huge effort to finally get to the market and when he finally gets there it fails his expectations abd he is angry with himself .... this story was really confusing because it obviously had a deeper message I'm just not sure what it was /:
rocking horse lottery story
The rocking horse story was really unexpected because when you read the title you expect a happy story about happiness and "luck" . The mother had a good family and kids and yet she felt in happy because she wasn't rich and the youngest boy fed off her vibe and drove himself insane to the point of death in order to create this luck or money she wanted and the mother still was glutunous and wanted more ../:
luck
Luck is not money . Many people consider it to be however luck is not even really realistic you have to make your own luck by making the best of every situation and member that money doesn't slovenly everything ..money can't buy happiness and happiness is generally closely related to haveing luck so putting unrealistic expectations on like like winning a million dollars or whatever is only going to cause you feelings if unhappiness and discontent

Research Paper Part 2
I think that the 2nd part of the assignment won't be too hard. All we have to do is write 4 paragraphs about 2 different analysis'. I'm not really looking forward to the last part though.
the final exam.
i think that the exam is really going to help with our essay writing skills? and to put more detail into our thoughts and really get us to know a lot more about authors and how they use alot of their life in their own story. :) it's interesting.
shooting elephant.
this story had alot more meaning than i thought, and the underlying thought was much more meaniningful to the author as long as the audience as well. i really liked how many things in this story seemed to have double meaning, and even though that power point had alot of redudant questions it was still helpful to figure out the full meaning of the story and get more of a grasp.
Shooting An Elephant
When I first read this I didn't really think that deeply into it but after looking back on it, it shows a lot of societal issues. The natives were poor and the British man was known as the upper class, but in the end, the large mass of natives ended up controlling him. He was pressured into killing the elephant because he did not want to look like a fool.

The lady in the looking glass
This story to me is about the fact of how money is not everything. In the story she has lots of possesions and money but no actual friends. It shows that money can not buy happiness, because she had many things but without it she is a loser with no friends. The concept of the looking glass is a little confusing to me, why was it needed for us to be able to view of her life? It was also a little creeperish because it felt like we were spying on the women.
Shooting an elephant
Shooting the elephant was an interesting story showing the british control in india. But in a sense the indians had control of there land because they strongly outnumbered the british. just like in the story when the man goes to kill the elephant he is followed by many people. And in a way he is controlled by them. Also when he sends for the gun he seals the fate that he is going to kill the elephant. It shows how the pressure from the people force him to kill it.

The Lady in the Looking Glass
This story made more sense after we discussed it in class. I like how she thought that isabella was so popular because she got so many letters in the mail, but come to find out they werent letters but they were bills. This story actually wasnt that bad.

modern eraa
in the powerpoint for what to expect in the modern era it doesnt seem as percise as it was in earlier time... this time period and the last i feel like i dont have a good idea what the main strive or general goal of the time is but oh welll last section of the classs(:
project
this project really stressed me out when we first got it but im really glad that it gonna be the final exam so thats one less exam i have to worry about and im just gonna try my best on this paper even though it still seems like a lot of work ..
The lady in the looking glass
this story was pretty intresting once we finally got onto a discussion with it like it really helps when we discuss because then i can understand the full meaning of the story that like how the description of the house was a description of the lady "isabella" and yeah like i really like it because it went of the whole idea of the grass always seems greener on the other side when its really not because the "creeper" realized that the isbella lady wasnt as glamerous as she thought..
the research paper thingg.
wellllll.. i think that is much better that this is going to be our exam! that excites me and makes me more willing to do it.. and a good job because its the final:) yaaay for us.
The Lady in the Looking Glass
This short story was kind of interesting. It was hard to get at first but then when we talked about it more in class it was a lot better. I found the story kind of funny. Cause this woman holds this other chick with high standard only to find out that she's just like a regular person. Letters and bills, all that stuff was confusing me but its better now.

the lady in the looking glass
While reading the story it seemed as if we were more able to find out about the materialistic aspects of the room rather that who she was. we don't know who she is. But then in the end we find her all alone naked in the room without friends or anything. I think it shows that material objects serve us no purpose in life, what maters is friendship.
Author project
Thank god that the project was shortened because it seemed impossible to get that done in the time we have left. But having it shorter will also make it so that are words are more meaningful because i am not trying to fill space anymore. I also think it will be fun to learn more about the authors because we were not able to learn everything about the authors while reading their works. We will be able to learn more on what caused them to write their works because we know more of what influenced them.
Final Exam thing
I am really glad that our assignment got cut down because it would have been very stressful to do that and all my other school things. I'm also happy that we don't have the normal exam (: I am doing it on Emily Bronte which shouldn't be a bad person to do it on because I think I will find a lot of information on her because of Wuthering Heights.

Modern Period
So unto the Modern Period! Sounds like its going to be a good chapter. I hope the literature is interesting. I mean the literature that we read is interesting and all but I hope that it has more of the stuff that we like. The history that we learned today was really cool, I mean it was not that long ago if you think about that.

Test
I'm kind of worried about this test. The reason is because we were never given new vocabulary and there will probably be questions about vocab. Also im not very good at remembering history, but the good thing is that we got to review for this test. I think talking about the poems helped me understand them more.
wuthering heights ending
So in the end of withering height the negative nelly Debbie downer , HEATHCLIFF, dies because he starved himself to death because he has no reason to live and he's too depressed and haunted by catherines ghost to move on with life so he end his life to be with Catherine In the after life and probably haunt withering heights together .. creepers lol and young Cathy marrys hareton .. it was an alright book I like frankenstein better
review
I think it was very helpful to review so much for the test in class we never really do that but it helped me get a better understanding for the meanings of the poems and withering heights themes and messages that relate to the Victorian era and how the history effected that time because I had kinda been confused on what the focus was in the Victorian era because the times before were much more clear and obvious I hope we all do really good on the test tomorrow goodluck everyone (:

Tag
So we are in Ms. Stariha's office and Kennady is farting all over the place....I can't breathe!!!
Test
So this test on monday, I'm a lil nervous about the poem's and the vocabulary since there is such a wide variety of words, even though we have had them as words before.
Sonnet 43 (our own)
How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee more than anything this world could ever offer
my love for you is as deep as a blackhole and goes the length of the skies above
I could give you the world, yet you choose that fool with riches
Money is useless in love
Our passion is as hot as fir and as cold as ice
For when i look at you I see a hope and longing in your eyes
I love thee more than anything
So please Catherine, be with me
For our love will last an entire eternity
I love thee more than anything this world could ever offer
my love for you is as deep as a blackhole and goes the length of the skies above
I could give you the world, yet you choose that fool with riches
Money is useless in love
Our passion is as hot as fir and as cold as ice
For when i look at you I see a hope and longing in your eyes
I love thee more than anything
So please Catherine, be with me
For our love will last an entire eternity

Grave poem
This poem was confusing, but it made alot of sense at the same time. It showed that the man's only friend was the dog. But it was also confusing in part because it seemed there should be another meaning to the poem. I am not sure what the other meaning is or even if there is one but it left me puzzled.
The other part is that why was the dog burying a bone in a gravc yard, and why was he even allowed there? it seems someone would have stopped the dog. i dont know this thought just rose questions to me.

Wuthering heights
I dont think the ending of the book really fit, it seemed to abrupt in the fact that heathcliff just died. To me it seemed that something more dramatic schould have happened. Such as cathy acting her own revenge on Heathcliff or something like that. The end of the story just to me did not fit.
Heathcliff to Catherine
How do I love thee Catherine? Let me count.
I love thee like Mexicans love Mexico.
You know how they say I love in Spainish?
Te amo that its and thats what I'll say.
You and me are stuck like glue.
I love thee like a bee loves honey.
I love thee deeply and without a thought
I love thee forever and ever.
I may not say it or always show how I feel,
but baby I love you and thats for real.
I love thee like a selfish king loves gold.
Money may fade but my love will never.
My loves immortal, eternal forever and ever.
Catherine I love you and even in death
I'll follow you forever.
I love thee like Mexicans love Mexico.

I'll follow you forever.

catherine how i love thee , let me count the ways?
i love thee when you play
i wish you were here to this day
your bodacious body
your a certified hottie
but i love thee for thy soul
your worth more than a pot of gold
i wish to spend forever with you
too bad your not my boo
you married edgar because we couldnt be
from those obligations i wish you were free
how my heart breakes when im not with thee
but its too late our love so until my last day depressed i will stay.

that grave poem that was weird.
this poem seemed very strange and i know there was an underlying meaning that none of us could really grasp, and it was kind of challenging to conviece and understand... if the poem is really about a dog accidently digging on someones grave because they were lonely then thats a really lame poem and i dont like it.. i mean i like the poem because when i read it the first time i took it into a different perspective but i forgot what i thought it meant and now i'm confused. kinda like this confusing blog post.
Heathcliff
There is a lot to say about Heathcliff. I don't know what to say about his death. For me I believe that he died in his heart a long time ago when Cathy died. But it caught up with him when he got older. I kind of glad that Heathcliff died cause now he can be with his love and not bug anyone else and not make them unhappy. Heathcliff was an alright guy but he had lots of problems.

creeeper
Ok so i think it was really weird when heathcliff imprissoned young cathy and nelly to try to force her to marry linton like in a way i think he was like trying to fufill his wishes of being with cathy by making young cathy marry linton if that makes ense?
Wuthering Heights
so i think its pretty intesting how young cathy and linton likr have the same fate as their parents like how its forbbiden love idk its just kinda weird how that works out but i also wish i could change the story i really wanted a happy ending .. it was a sad ending where i feel like everyone just didnt get to be with the one they loved but i guess thats how its works in the real world too..
snow day snow day make my homework go awayyy!(:
so i think 3 snow days in a row made me a very happy person but also confused? because now i dont know if the snow days have an effect on the due date of the wuthering heights project err what ? i wish miss k would get on here or send us a email and let us know

Snowdays
I've been reading over break because I didn't know if we had to or not but I have been just to be safe. Is our project still due monday since we had 3 days off school, I didn't know if we would be getting a couple more days to work on it? Grace and I will be getting tomorrow to work on it and trying to finish it but I'm not sure if we will be able to finish it so I was hoping we would get a day or two more to work on it since we had 3 days off and it was hard to travel since the roads were so bad so we couldn't get together then.
Wuthering Heights
Are we suppose to finish the book by monday? I am on chapter 31 or 32 and i will probably finish it just to be safe. Overall I think the book is pretty interesting because Heathcliss went from being a servant and outcast to controlling all of Wuthering Heights, Thrushcross Grange, and the Linton and Earnshaw families. Another question when is our test?
Wuthering Heights Love
The book has a very interesting way of putting love. All of these love triangles and betrayal makes the book even more interesting. I mean you think one way and then the person turns around and does the complete opposite of what you thought was going to happen. Its great! It took me a long time to get into the book but now that I look back on it I understand a lot more of what was going on.

Linton
Linton has become more complex in the last few chapters, he seems to try to trick catherine into loving him. He uses guilt in making his sicknesses into cathy's fault and seems to trick him into loving him. Linton is just a creeper he is not near normal at all.
Snow days
okay my first question is since we had three snowdays is the project still due on monday. because we have read like only two thirds of the book and i dont think I will be able to make an acurate representation of the story if i havent read it all yet.
